Zap is the song these so called “outer-space” rappers try to create but fail at miserably. Black Milk’s Psychedelic, Frank Zappa flip for the back drop is tailor made for the hybrid emcee. I can see why someone would be turned off by Danny’s sound and defending his material (and haircut) to the common listener is no easy feat, But once you build up a tolerance for it there is plenty of potent material to enjoy. Pac Blood in particular from the album Triple X is a stand out which still gets spins often. So if you are looking for something different look no further.

L.A. has had a resurgence in Hip Hop lately. Case in point: Kendrick Lamar, School boy Q, Ab-Soul and Jay Rock. Emcees who have created their own buzz in the solo circuit but have joined forces to form Black Hippy. Their collective effort should prove to be noteworthy, with songs like constipation and Zip That Chop That already making noise on the internets. Acts like Blu, Casey Veggies, Nipsey Hussle and OFWGKTA will ensure that L.A soon grabs hold of the title they once held in the not so distant past.
